Setting up Let's Switch

Five minutes, once. No account, no sign-in.

  1. Download the app

One file, LetsSwitch.dmg, lands in your Downloads folder.

    Download Let's Switch
  2. Drag it to Applications

Double-click it. A window titled Let's Switch opens with the app on one side and your Applications folder on the other — drag one onto the other.

Don’t skip this and run it from that window: an app launched from a disk image can’t keep its permission, so it asks again every time. Once copied, eject Let's Switch from the Finder sidebar with .

  3. Open it for the first time

Double-click Lets Switch in Applications. macOS asks whether you’re sure about an app from the internet — click Open. You’ll only see it once; the app is signed and notarised by Apple.

  4. Allow Accessibility

A welcome window explains why, then System Settings opens on Privacy & Security. Switch Lets Switch on. Your Mac may ask for your password — that’s macOS guarding the setting, not the app.

    AccessibilityRequired

Sees your open windows and raises the one you pick. Without it the switcher can't do its job.

Open this setting on your Mac →

    Screen RecordingOptional

Only draws the live thumbnails. Skip it and you get names and icons instead.

Open this setting on your Mac →

Anything marked Optional can wait. Nothing breaks.

  5. Look in the menu bar

No Dock icon, no main window — this trips up everyone. Let's Switch lives in the menu bar, top-right near the clock. Click it for Settings…, About and Quit.

  6. Try it

    Open any app, then press:

The switcher appears with your most recent windows, newest first. Keep held and tap to move down the list, then let go to jump.

    Go back
    `Same app
    escCancel

Any shortcut can be changed in Settings → Shortcuts.

Bought Pro? Paste your key

Your key arrived by email right after checkout. Menu bar icon → Settings…General → paste it into the license field and activate. Pro unlocks straight away.

No account, nothing to log into — the key is stored in your Mac’s Keychain. Copy it from the email rather than typing it, with no spaces either side. One key covers up to 20 devices, so reuse it on your other Macs.

If something isn’t working

The shortcut does nothing.
Almost always the Accessibility switch. Check that Lets Switch is listed and on under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility — and if it already is, toggle it off and on.
It’s on and still nothing happens.
You probably granted a copy that’s gone — the one in the disk image or in Downloads. Quit the app, remove Lets Switch from the list with , then open it from Applications and grant it again.
macOS says “Lets Switch” is damaged.
The download didn’t finish. Delete LetsSwitch.dmg and download it again from this page.
My license key isn’t accepted.
Check for stray spaces and that you copied all of it. The first activation needs internet; after that it works offline. Still refused? Forward us the purchase email.
I want it to start when my Mac does.
Menu bar icon → Settings…General → turn on the launch-at-login toggle.

Still stuck? Just ask.
